Change of pace!

I needed a change from crocheting bunnies over the weekend so I did some sewing. My surprise quilt just needs borders now, which I would have put on except I bought the wrong fabric for one of the borders. I went to put it on and realised it was totally different to the one I had bought for the patchwork piece. Of course it was going to be the first border so that project came to a screaming halt after that discovery. I have to wait until tomorrow before I can go and get the right fabric for the borders. I'll make sure I take a piece of the fabric with me to make sure I get the right one this time!

Since the surprise quilt came to a stop I decided to do a quick and easy project and I started on these cute little elephants by Heather Bailey. They still need some finishing touches but I am happy with them so far.

3 Bunnies ready for their new home!

I finally finished 3 of the bunnies I was asked to make. They will head off to their new home tomorrow.
I thought I only had one more to make but then someone else asked me to make another one last night so I still have two more to make! Talk about rabbits multiplying!! And I haven't even started on my OMG goal or my RSC blocks for this month, looks like the next few days could be busy!
Oh just incase anyone else is interested in making a bunny here is the link to the video tutorial

Late FNSI check in!

Wow where has the weekend gone? Actually now that I look back at the last post I made where have the last few weeks gone? I haven't been getting much done lately I have been busy crocheting rabbits for friends and then I remembered the little girl next door was having a birthday this week so guess what she got from us? Yep ...a rabbit! Here are two that are still in progress and I still have two more to make!
This one was finished early in the week.

This is what I was working on for FNSI

I have noticed that each time I make one they are getting a little smaller, I hope that means I am getting better at crocheting. It isn't because I have changed hooks or thread weight so what else could it be? ;0)

I have been having trouble motivating myself to sew lately and I just didn't know why but I think I discovered the reason this week. I have been keen to make this for someone but kept putting it off  because I had so many UFOs to get finished and I have been trying to be good and not start anything new. However,  I think it just decided it was time to be made. It is coming together nicely but I can only show you a sneak peek because it is a surprise!

Today it wasn't me that was sewing it was Master Eight. He decided it was time to finish his Hummingbird!
I think he did a pretty good job with it and I only had to help with the really tricky bits like the hand sewing (especially the button joints!) but he did the rest. I wonder what his next project will be?

Linking up with FNSI. Tomorrow I think I will enjoy a cuppa while I check out what everyone else did on Friday night!

Another Bunny

When I showed some friends the bunny that I had made they asked if I could make them some, so the bunnies will be multiplying around here for the next few days! Here is the one I finished today.
Three more to go!

Meadow Mist Mystery Quilt Revealed

The last clue for the Meadow Mist Mystery Quilt went up yesterday and I knew what I would be doing today as soon as I saw it! So I finished up my quilt top and I have already dropped it into Quilty Desires to be quilted. It is the first time I have participated in a mystery quilt along and I enjoyed every minute of it. If Cheryl runs another one this year I am pretty sure I will join in again!

Can't wait to see what Jude or Marci do with the quilting on this one! I just love this quilt.

February OMG Project

So I finally decided what my February goal is going to be. Yes it is another UFO that a friend has been very patiently waiting for so it will be nice to get it finished and off to the quilter.
Linking up with Elm Street Quilts February Goal Setting Party and I'm off there now to check out what others are planning to work on! Why don't you check it out too?

Ok so I joined OPAM today

I thought it would be a good idea to try and get something finished early so I pulled out my Amigurimi Bunny for my next project as I didn't have much left to do on it, only problem was I didn't realise one of the ears fell on the floor and when I cleaned up I vacuumed it up. So I then had to make another ear, but I couldn't remember which size hook I had used when I started it and I used the one I had become very comfortable with. Turned out it was too big and I needed to use the next size down. So after a false start I finally got the ear remade and then I made the arms and legs. It was so close to being finished I couldn't go to bed until it was done (hence the 1am post!) Anyway it is now finished and I have my first OPAM finish for the year, plus I can mark another UFO off the list!

Now what will I do next?
(Maybe I should go to bed since I have to do the school run in the morning!)
